Overview
The Ayuntamiento de Manilva is the local government body responsible for municipal administration in Manilva, Málaga, located in the province of Andalucía. Recent Projects & Updates
New Mayor since April 2025: Mario Jiménez Rodríguez was proclaimed Mayor on 30 April 2025 after a successful motion of censure. His coalition government includes Compromiso Manilva and Con Andalucía-IU.
Housing Initiatives: Ongoing work to embovedar ("vault over") the Arroyo del Estanquillo to free land for 67 protected homes. This project has been in planning for many years.
Paseo Marítimo de Sabinillas Remodelling: The promenade in Sabinillas is being renewed: pavement, lighting, urban furniture, and sea wall enhancements. Project co-funded by the Diputación de Málaga, divided into phases. Manilva
Plan Director for Castillo de la Duquesa: Commissioned to assess the Castle, plan conservation/restoration over the next decade, involving input from experts and citizens.
Urban Sector Plans: Project for the sector CDU-5 is under planning; improvements in urbanisation. Also, meetings with residential communities to hear concerns and integrate them into planning.
Opposition to Closure of Local Fire Retén: The Ayuntamiento has formally opposed proposals to close the local fire station (retén de bomberos), offering land and facilities to maintain or build new ones.
